The Callahan Institute of Arts, well known as CIA Dance, is conveniently located off the 5 freeway in Encinitas.  Founded in 2004 by Owner, Tamra Callahan and co-founder, Jeremy Lamont, the CIA provides quality dance instruction with character. Our mission is to change the world by inspiring one young person at a time to realize their self-worth through the power of dance, music and the arts.  We've begun walking out our mission  by monitoring our music selections, developing positive re-enforcement teaching methods, holding CIA Character Awards ceremonies and choosing quality staff members who share our vision.

The CIA focuses on cooperation over competition.  We act on our commitment to teaching values by giving quarterly Character Awards for integrity, character, discipline and loyalty to our students.  All CIA students are involved in nominating fellow students for these awards based on the display of such values.

Although we offer many styles of dance classes, we are best known for our award winning Hip Hop and Jazz programs.  We offer classes for ages 3 through adults.  We also offer competitive and performance dance teams and youth outreach programs.

We are pleased to provide quality dance training, after school programs, performance teams, and professional placement opportunities for our students and patrons all over North County.
